These mesmerizing sculptures are the work of William Ricketts, a rare Australian born in 1898 who was in awe of the connection the Aborigine people have with the land. Hidden deep within a lush Australian rainforest are a set of mystical Aborigine sculptures seemingly merged into the natural surroundings. Moss covered torsos of men, women and children protrude from tree trunks and boulders. Some reach heavenward with widespread wings, others envelop each other protectively – all are symbols of the relationship the indigenous Australian Aborigines have with nature.
Last night I made homemade sangria and homemade guacamole and we feasted on nachos (those are Mike’s, he put a ton of guac- omg!) Yummmmmyyyyyy. I had some leftover guacamole earlier… having a little leftover sangria now :)
Before and after yardwork today. I can actually walk down the sidewalk without having to twist and turn sideways to avoid branches and and duck to walk under vines and otherwise weave my way through the jungle. The jungle is pretty though… I wanted to leave a little bit of it, so I just tried to move it out of the way.

This song is so gorgeous… I love the prominence of the almost-tribal drumming, her voice of course, and the amazing imagery of the lyrics. The feeling of the song is so mythic, mystical, archetypal. I have really grown to love this woman.
